The drainage canal that dumps into the ocean at Capo Beach, Calif. was backed up forming a lake of toxicity today.

At this location, on a good day, the canal seems more innocent, trickling into the ocean without too much attention. However, when it dumps like today, the tragedy of messing with our oceans becomes crystal clear.

This O.C. Register photographer is documenting the "clean up," which simply means bulldozing the sand to make a wider channel into the Pacific waters in southern Orange County.
